SUSS VITRAGES
Photography series, Plural Exhibition, Moscow, June-August 2021
Sunlight is the main subject of this shoot, which is an attempt to “tame” and “restrain” the Sun.
Stained glasses were used to make the Sun rays physically visible. Performers from the SUSS dance company were invited to interact with the brightest lightning source in the world. When a ray goes through the colorful layers, it seems as if we’re able to catch it and constrain within a static shape. But mere minutes pass, the sun angle has changed, and the tinted shadow has started to fall apart. It was an astonishing syncretic experience due to the interplay of dance and the Sun.
