Sveta Maximova is a multidisciplinary artist from the Sakha Republic.  


Rethinking herself as a representative of an ethnic group in “post-imperial“ discourse and living in Europe, she explores the current state of the socio-political landscape through the prism of hybrid Sakha knowledge. Sveta creates visual and textual speculations intersecting moving and stopped images. Sveta got a bachelor’s degree in journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University and studied Photo in Media at Rodchenko Art School. In 2022, Sveta moved to Budapest (Hungary), where she continued her artistic practice. Currently, she is getting a master’s degree in photography at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest.
